Description:

We are seeking a Scientist, Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Biology to join Aspect’s Therapeutic Cell Platform team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Therapeutic Cell Platforms, the Scientist, Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Biology will play a pivotal role in developing bioprinted tissue therapeutics from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop bioprinted tissue therapeutics that could transform the way we develop medicines and treat diseases.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education + Experience: PhD in biology, biotechnology, life sciences or related field, or a MSc with at least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Cell Line Knowledge: Hands on experience in handling hPSCs, cell-based assays, Flow cytometry, and cell culture.
  • Laboratory Skills: In-depth technical experience in flow cytometry, immunostaining, and molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid extractions, qPCR, library constructions for RNA-Seq. Knowledge in bioinformatics analyses is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, plan, and execute experiments and assays to support the development of bioprinted tissue therapeutic programs.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of hPSC lines, including phenotypic, genetic, and functional evaluations.
  • Develop and refine methods to enhance process efficiency and quality.
  • Perform and optimize hPSC differentiation protocols to generate specific cell types for therapeutic applications.
  • Expertly culture and maintain hPSCs, ensuring high cell quality and viability.
  • Work closely with Process Development teams to design, execute scale-up/scale-out strategies, and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for use of cells in bioprinted tissue therapeutics.
  • Collaborate with tissue engineers, biomaterials experts, and biologists to optimize cell functions in bioprinted tissues.
  • Generate experimental reports and present data to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear and rigorous experimental records, including electronic laboratory notebooks.
