Description:
SCIENTIST I - ANALYTICAL OPERATIONS
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist I to join our Analytical Operations team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to world-class research and manufacturing efforts, perform analytical testing on commercial batches supporting the manufacturing and/or development of innovative products. REQUIREMENTS:
- B.Sc. in chemistry or a related field.
- Experience with common laboratory equipment and operations.
- Understanding of basic chemistry and chromatographic separations.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative chemical or microbiological analysis.
- Awareness of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach to scientific problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Responsibilities:
- Document all experimental data in accordance with Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original and Accurate (ALCOA) guidelines.
- Independently perform HPLC, dissolution, and physical testing analysis using established procedures.
- Proficiency with Empower, NuGenesis, MS Word & Excel Software.
- Troubleshoot system suitability failures and implement solutions.
- Recognize and report unexpected or Out Of Specification (OOS) results immediately to the Supervisor and conduct laboratory investigations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
- Perform alternating or rotating shift work as required.
