JOB DESCRIPTION

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an ambitious individual with strong work behaviors to join the Americas NanoPort team as an Application Scientist. This is an outstanding chance to create a significant impact in the field of the Electron Microscopy while being part of a world-class company.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry (advanced degree preferred).
  • 3 or more years of experience in a relevant position within the research environment with recent experience using small DualBeam or FIB/SEM technology.
  • Strong interest in electron microscopy and correlative workflows is a plus.
  • Proficiency in advanced technology diagnostics, problem-solving techniques, and operational optimization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills tailored for a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 50%).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality product demonstrations on small DualBeam or FIB/SEM systems.
  • Develop new techniques and applications for our partners and customers in the Materials Science marketplace.
  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.
  • Assist with all phases of the sales cycle as a technical product expert.
  • Nurture positive customer relationships and act as a high-level customer interface for specific instrument/applications issues.
  • Provide customer support and applications training post-sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with product groups to provide continuous feedback on system performance and potential problems.
  • Collaborate with marketing/development groups on future product developments.
