Looking for a highly motivated purification chemist to provide chiral/achiral purification to support Discovery Chemistry in a High Throughput Purification Group
QUALIFICATIONS - B.S. OR M.S. IN CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY OR RELATED FIELD
- Scientist 2 - B.S. with 1-2 years of relevant experience or M.S. with no experience
- Scientist 3 - B.S. with 3-5 years of relevant experience or M.S. with 1-2 years of relevant experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Waters instrumentation (UPLC-MS, AutoPurification system, Waters SFC, etc)
- Knowledge of informatics, basic computer programs (excel, word, etc), Waters operation software -Masslynx, and Virscidian software
- Experience in purification of small molecules, peptides, and other classes
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast paced, team environment.
- Ability to multi - task and deliver on multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Highly self - motivated, customer - oriented focus and an attention to detail are critical to success in this position to support cross - functional collaborations across diverse research programs
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- LC-MS method development knowledge and experiences
- Experience in high throughput automation and instrumentation applied to chemical compound purification
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and oral/written communications skills

ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking to fill a Scientist 2 or 3 – Purification Chemist – Small Molecule position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, troubleshoot, and repair analytical and preparative LC-MS or SFC instruments
- Purification of desired products from chemistry reaction crude mixtures (mg-g crude scale) by applying LC/MS, SFC technologies
- Development of new analytical methods or approaches to address more challenging separations
