  • BSc / MSc qualified (minimum 2.1) within a chemistry related discipline.

  • A passion for practical synthetic chemistry.
  • Identify synthetic chemistry problems and work with colleagues to implement solutions.
  • To be able to interpret NMR and mass spectrometry data.
  • To be able to use scientific literature and provide solutions to technical problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design of routes, plan and efficiently perform the synthesis of target compounds.
  • Work closely with colleagues in multidisciplinary teams to deliver results for your clients.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with key stakeholders, interfacing directly with clients.
  • Find solutions to technical problems using the scientific literature.
  • Use a variety of modern synthetic techniques (microwave technology, parallel synthesis, photo- and electrochemistry).
  • Use modern purification techniques (automated column chromatography and HPLC).
  • Gain experience in medicinal chemistry and develop an understanding of project biological data.
  • Learn about the drug discovery process as part of a fast-moving and dynamic contract research organisation.
  • Be willing to expand your non-lab skills within areas such as presentation, scientific writing and operational or continuous improvement initiatives.
