Represent the consumer voice in the product development process. Act as an integral member of cross-functional project teams and actively contribute by providing guidance on the selection and utilization of sensory evaluation and consumer methodologies to enhance the value and success of projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide consumer & sensory insights to innovation and renovation projects: Play an active part in cross-functional project teams, from front-end innovation until launch. Provide guidance on choice and use of sensory and consumer research methodologies. Lead design, execution, statistical analysis, and visual storytelling to generate actionable insights for product design.
- Build sensory & consumer preference knowledge on product experience: Build and cultivates foundational knowledge of the product category and target consumer with a focus on how/why consumer perceive and interact with products to generate relevant insights.
- Manage and execute consumer and sensory research studies with excellence: Design fit-to-purpose studies with clear, time-bounded plans. Communicate high-level recommendations and implications for efficient, effective, and timely decision making. Ensure collaboration with Sensory Lab Operations team and external agencies in order to ensure lean and transparent execution.
- Promote empathy for the consumer product experience and translate into actionable insights: Build and leverage knowledge to identify new opportunities and guide strategy.
- Ensure consumer & sensory insights continuous improvement and team development: Contribute to internal trainings, sharing knowledge and expertise within the global knowledge network across R&D and the wider Nestlé organization. Apply Nestle global sensory & consumer guidelines and contribute to the development of new research methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience on Sensory Science, Consumer Science, Market Research, Food Technology, Food Science, or other related fields.
- Min. 3 years of experience in a wide range of sensory analysis and consumer product testing techniques and their applications.
- Experience of leading sensory activities and/or working with sensory research agencies.
- Experience in market research with exposure to a variety of consumer testing techniques in product testing.
- Experience in consumer-packaged goods, experience in both R&D and business sides is a plus.
- Software knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, SAP.
- Strong statistical skills. Fluent in the use of statistical software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on effective visual storytelling.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Independently motivated.
- Good interpersonal/teamwork skills and a sense of business/technical interrelationships
