We are seeking a Scientist to join our Regulatory Affairs team in our Clark, NJ Research facility. This role is responsible for supporting on regulatory compliance and regulatory reporting/registration requirements.

As a Scientist in our Regulatory team, your main responsibilities are:

  • Perform and coordinate regulatory intelligence evaluations
  • Provide advice to labs and product development teams and give guidance on potential regulatory compliance issues
  • Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory compliance documents.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding ingredients, formulations, regulatory issues and associated requirements.
  • Manage regional projects and be able to collaborate with countries and to set up priorities
  • Monitor new regulations, evaluate impact to L’Oreal business and lead on next steps

To Succeed in this Position, You Have:

  • A completed bachelor’s degree in a scientific (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science etc.) or engineering (Chemical, Materials, Biomedical) discipline (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of chemistry (preferred)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in regulatory and/or product safety in cosmetics, personal care, chemical or dietary supplement industries (required)
  • Working knowledge of international chemical, cosmetics and OTC regulations (preferred)
  • Preferably experience in conducting regulatory compliance reviews for RMs and Formulas.
  • Preferably experience in supporting regulatory reporting and registration requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of personnel within R&I and with other divisions and departments.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Solid oral and written communication skills is required
  • The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required)
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)
