From ELC, through Primary and now into Secondary, we aim to provide content that engages learners and supports Scottish educators in getting it right for every child. We are always looking for opportunities to support our users further. Therefore, we are delighted to be expanding our team to allow us to focus further on developing resources to support teachers working throughout the primary curriculum.
As a Content Editor for Scotland, you will be involved in planning, organising and editing resources and other content for the site. You will need to have a strong, current working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and experience working within a primary setting in Scotland. You will use your knowledge to develop and edit resources with your content being made into a finished product for Twinkl by our highly skilled design team.
This role does not require you to work from the Twinkl office and meetings can be conducted via GoogleMeet/Hangouts when required. This is a remote, flexible position. Working hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments, but you should have availability for team meetings during office hours.

How you’ll spend your day:

• editing and developing innovative resources that inspire learning experiences throughout Pre-Early, Early, First and Second Level
• sensitively responding to and giving editorial feedback around grammar and punctuation, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy, as well as working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard
• producing resources that respond to customer needs and current teaching methodologies
• meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas

To succeed in the role, you will:

• produce and edit original content that is accurate, engaging and research-driven, according to a monthly target
• keep up to date with Scottish initiatives, guidelines and updates
• work as part of a team to identify content opportunities to further grow the product

In this role, you will learn:

• how to edit content whilst considering presentation and style, making attractive and engaging resources suitable for primary school aged children and their teachers
• how to edit content in line with Twinkl style and the Scotland team editing requirements, providing suggestions if required
• remote collaboration, how to work closely as part of a team with writers and editors across the country
• how to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help

• extensive knowledge of the Scottish Curriculum, particularly candidates with experience in working within the primary sector
• at least three years teaching experience in Scotland
• a passion for helping other teachers build their knowledge and confidence in all subject areas
• the ability to create resources that demonstrate a high standard of spelling, punctuation, grammar, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy
• excellent communication skills
• creativity and initiative
• the ability to operate fluently between a range of different IT platforms
• Essential for remote working - you will need access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb download and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.
