Agfa Healthcare is seeking experienced Scrum Masters to join our dynamic team in Waterloo, Ontario. As a Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in driving Agile and Scrum practices within our R&D teams, focusing on the development of our flagship Enterprise Imaging software solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to foster innovation, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement through daily interactions with developers, testers, and clinical/technical product owners. You will be instrumental in making a meaningful difference in the global healthcare arena by enhancing Agile practices and supporting the growth of Scrum teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: A College/University degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in the software industry, with a proven track record of successfully implementing Agile practices in the healthcare domain
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Improvement, and Group Collaboration tools and practices. Working knowledge with JIRA and Confluence is an asset.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively transfer knowledge and facilitate discussions.
  • Estimation and Forecasting: Strong estimation and forecasting skills to help the team plan and deliver on their commitments.
  • SAFe Experience: Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and operating on an Agile Release Train. SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master) is an asset.
  • Passion for Healthcare: A passion for improving the efficacy and efficiency of healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitation and Coaching: Act as a facilitator and coach for the team, guiding them in the practices and principles of Agile and Scrum. Ensure that the team adheres to Agile methodologies and continuously improves their processes.
  • Scrum Ceremonies: Plan and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure these meetings are productive and focused on achieving the team’s goals.
  • Conflict Resolution: Track and help the team resolve conflicts and impediments that may hinder their progress. Analyze issues and work collaboratively to remove obstacles to achieving committed deliverables and goals.
  • Promote Self-Management: Encourage a culture of self-management and continuous learning within the team. Create a safe environment where team members feel comfortable experimenting and learning from failures.
  • Transparency and Communication: Act as an information radiator for the team, providing necessary transparency to stakeholders and ensuring clear communication of progress, risks, and issues.
  • SAFe Principles: Operate on a Release Train using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) principles. Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers to ensure alignment and synchronization across the Agile Release Train.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to reflect on their processes and identify areas for enhancement. Implement best practices and drive initiatives that improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
