YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- 1+ year freight forwarding or trucking (dispatching) experience
- Knowledge of CN/CP, Canadian ports and containers drayage procedures
- Understanding of import and export process
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
As our Sea Logistics Intermodal Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of operations for first mile deliveries of full container loads in collaboration with our approved trucking vendors, Exports team, other departments, and clients.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor all incoming delivery orders from our export team, collaborative departments, and direct customers
- Assign and dispatch shipments to KN-approved truckers in a timely manner
- Monitor daily earliest return dates and cut offs at all port or rail terminals to ensure smooth loadings of full container load export containers
- Verify empty pick up locations, assist trucking companies to submit rail billings for loaded containers ingate
- Liaise with steamship lines, Rail, port terminals, and trucking terminals to resolve any operational issues
- Assure all cost and revenue charges are entered on the operational system and communicated to internal/external customers within the day as per internal agreements
- Communicate promptly with our exports colleagues and customers regarding container cycles, costs, and any other relevant information
- Support accounting administration by providing backup documentation for billing functions and extra charges
- Collaborate with CCL to establish standard operating procedures (SOP) and service level agreements (SLA) for customer setups and special arrangements.
