Position: Seasonal Electroplating Technician
Seasonal Electroplating Technician is responsible for creating personalized jewelry pieces including rings, necklaces and bracelets.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in handling and preparing chemical solutions
• Attention to detail and ability to perform precise work
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot plating issues
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical or associate degree in related field preferred
• Previous experience handling hazardous chemicals preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand for an extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Capable of lifting 50lbs and moving equipment and materials as required

• Clean and prepare stainless steel jewelry pieces for plating
• Perform electropolishing using sulfuric and phosphoric acid
• Set up and operate electroplating equipment for gold and rose gold plating
• Monitor and adjust plating parameters (voltage, current, time) to ensure optimal coating quality
• Handle and maintain chemical solutions, including proper mixing and disposal according to safety and environmental regulations
• Inspect plated jewelry pieces for defects such as uneven coating, pitting, or discoloration
• Conduct thickness measurements and adhesion tests to ensure compliance with specifications
• Document and report any quality issues to the supervisor and suggest corrective actions
• Perform routine maintenance on plating equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity
• Correctly utilize PPE when around chemicals and in plating room
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials and operating machinery
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment
