SEASONAL GUEST EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATE (DISHWASHER)

Location: Métis Crossing, Smoky Lake, AB
Closing Date: Until Suitable Candidates Found.
Position Status: Seasonal, Full Time

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a demanding area, including standing for the duration of shifts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of food service requirements and operations.
  • Previous experience as a kitchen helper or server is an asset.
  • WHMIS certification and basic First Aid training.
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with Alberta’s history and cultural diversity.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Métis culture, past and present.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to work on-site at Métis Crossing in Smoky Lake.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check required before employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate dishwashers to clean pots, pans, utensils, and silverware efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Maintain the dishwasher in clean and working condition; report any issues or defective equipment promptly.
  • Pre-wash and scrub pots and pans to ensure cleanliness.
  • Properly store and organize cleaned pots, pans, and silverware in designated areas.
  • Monitor and ensure all cleaning and sanitizing chemicals are used at the correct levels.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, and organizing the dishwashing area.
  • Wipe down and sanitize food preparation areas regularly to maintain hygiene.
  • Use and wear required equipment, devices, and clothing as per Métis Crossing guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Adhere to Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) protocols at all times.
  • Perform other “back of house” duties as assigned by the supervisor.
