Our specialty is providing Industrial and Agricultural Vegetation Management Services to federal, provincial, municipal government, school boards, oil and gas, utility, aggregates and farm and ranch customers. We specialize in herbicide application, fertilizing, seeding, rodent/mosquito control, and environmental assessments. We are currently looking for Seasonal Herbicide Applicators to start in May 2025.
Rate of pay: $25-$30/hr starting plus overtime
Location: Crossfield, Alberta
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Applicators will be responsible for applying herbicides to control invasive weeds on public and private property throughout 5 counties and 12 cities. Application of herbicides to pastures with and without animals present on the same property. Weed inspections for identifying invasive weeds for Weed Notices and control purposes. All employees must follow and comply with company safe work practices/policies, procedures and safety requirements outlined in the Industry Standards and Good practices for Vegetation Management, Alberta Environment and WCB.
Herbicide applicators often work in crews of two, using various equipment to get the job done including but not limited to: 3/4ton trucks, trailers, ATV, UTV, backpack sprayers, handpicking, weed whips . You will be trained for any equipment you will operate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Hold a high school diploma. Enrolled in a industry related or post secondary program is an asset
- AB Industrial Pesticide Applicators or AB Authorized Assistant certification is an asset
- UTV & H2S certifications are assets
- Display courtesy, professional and customer service attitude at all times
- Ability to keep neat notes of application records
- Class 5 operators license minimum , and a clean drivers abstract
- Farming and/or mechanical background is a strong asset

Responsibilities:
- Self motivated, with excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a small team with minimal direct supervision
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Mix and then apply herbicide to customer’s properties using various spraying equipment.
- Detailed record keeping of applied areas will be required
- Perform pre operation and application checks to equipment, along with other safety paperwork requirements.
- Accountable for maintenance and well being of machinery.
- Be physically able to perform tasks as heavy lifting (50lbs) and operating equipment for extended periods of time.
