Reporting to the FSQR Specialist/Lab Supervisor, the seasonal lab assistant is accountable for efficient, accurate testing of grain samples, assisting the FSQR Grain Specialists and permanent Lab Technicians as per Cargill standards established to meet the requirements of Cargill customers, as well as regulatory mandates such as the Canada Grain Act during the harvest season.
This job requires to be exposed to grain dust which could cause allergic reactions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Basic computer skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree related to the field of agriculture or science and/or a diploma demonstrating completion of a course of study related to laboratory testing, science, or agriculture
Experience working in the Canadian grain industry and/or working in a laboratory in a technical capacity
Working knowledge of the Canada Grain Act, Canadian Grain Commission standards and/or food processing experience
This is a Full - Time Temporary position is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba; however please expect to receive telephone calls from a Recruiter with a 204 area code
Responsibilities:
Testing of grain sample requests in an efficient, accurate, and consistent delivery period
Manage data produced in lab testing
Support and assist FSQR teams as required
Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned.
