Seasonal Sous Chef

Distinction Hotels Group is a 100% New Zealand owned & operated, and its premium 112 room hotel, nestled in beautiful Te Anau, the gateway to Milford Sounds and a great base to explore Fiordland.

You will have a knowledge of both conferencing and A La carte restaurant service, take pride in what you are producing and can pass on your passion and knowledge to the team.
1. Creating a variety of menus, with the ability to cater to special dietary requirements
2. Produce quality cuisine across the range of outlets in our hotel
3. Controlling of the Food Control Plan and the daily managing of CHOMP program.
4. Have a strong focus on health and safety and NZ food hygiene standards
5. Food ordering and stock takes
6. Staying within the food budget
7. Leading and developing the kitchen team.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Senior Chef or Sous chef.
2. Buffet, Banquet and a la carte experience.
3. A professional approach and a passion for the industry.
4. The ability to lead, support & mentor a small team.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. A positive work attitude and flexibly with shifts.
7. Currently resident in New Zealand with appropriate work permit
Subsidized seasonal staff accommodation can be made available.
Hours of work - this is a Seasonal role on a rotating roster Monday to Sunday, weekends, school holidays and public holidays will be required to be worked to meet hotel demands.
