Description:
A leading NYC Investment Management firm is currently seeking a highly qualified SEC Manager to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in documenting accounting conclusions for significant accounting matters, developing and maintaining the company’s accounting policies, and liaising with multiple teams for compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Document technical accounting conclusions for large transactions, new products, and programs.
Perform reviews and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Monitor and interpret US GAAP standards, SEC interpretations, SEC rules and regulations.
Carry out technical accounting research on complex themes.
Issue technical accounting guidance to different departments.
Initiate internal controls over accounting policy processes for SOX compliance..
Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Implement new technical accounting and financial reporting standards.
Analyze peer companies’ SEC filings for benchmarking and identifying best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
6+ years of experience with a background in Big 4 Accounting
Previous experience with asset management or financial services
Extensive technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
