Description:

We are in search of a SEC Reporting Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry, located in Whitehall, Michigan. In this role, you will work closely with the accounting manager, providing mentorship and conducting performance reviews. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, with a focus on public company reporting, SEC regulations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process of SEC reporting in compliance with public company regulations
  • Provide mentorship to the Accounting Manager and collaborate on various tasks
  • Conduct performance reviews for the Accounting Manager, identifying areas of improvement and providing constructive feedback
  • Maintain a 3-day a week on-site presence until March, transitioning to a 2-day a week on-site presence thereafter
  • Evaluate current accounting practices and implement improvements where necessary
  • Assist in budget management, ensuring optimal allocation of resources
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Help implement system upgrades, such as transitioning to printing based software
  • Handle any additional duties related to the maintenance of customer credit records and processing of customer credit applications.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of Public Company Reporting
  • Proficient in SEC Reporting and familiar with SEC Regulations
  • Experience in Month End Close procedures
  • Strong skills in Financial Reporting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus
  • Proficiency in using financial software and databases
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
