About the Team:
The Legal & Corporate Governance team is an integral part of AGF. The team is primarily responsible for providing legal and governance advice to all AGF business units and affiliates.
About the Role:
Working out of AGF’s corporate head office in Toronto and reporting to the Vice-President, Associate General Counsel, you will join the team as a Securities Law Clerk, supporting the team with working knowledge of securities laws and continuous disclosure requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file securities regulatory documents on SEDAR+.
  • Liaise with the OSC (and other regulators, as applicable) and internal business partners to obtain the appropriate approvals/receipts associated with continuous disclosure filings.
  • Assist in the drafting and preparation of securities offering documents such as prospectuses (and ancillary documents), offering memorandums, and proxy related materials.
  • Draft other continuous disclosure documents, such as material change reports, etc.
  • Act as a resource for the Legal department and internal business partners in connection with product development initiatives.
  • Keep track of upcoming and ongoing filing deadlines.
  • Assist with legal contract management.
  • Any other departmental responsibilities.

Your Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience with Canadian/Ontario securities laws (preferably with knowledge of investment funds specifically)
  • Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Associate Program Certificate and/or College Law Clerk Diploma
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships and rapport with business partners
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Working knowledge of securities laws and continuous disclosure requirements
  • Strong computer skills including SEDAR+, and Microsoft Office

Your Assets (but not mandatory):

  • SEDI and NRD filings experience/familiarity
