About the role
Balfour Beatty have a fantastic opportunity for a Security Advisor to join the power T&D team
Working directly with multiple project teams within Power T&D to ensure group compliance and security provisions are adequate for the project areas.
Working in direct partnership with the Security Providers to always ensure the above and reporting directly to the SBU security manager and individual project management teams.
The location for this role will be based in Scotland with hybrid working available. There will be travel to various sites around Scotland weekly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure security provider contract performance by gathering data to monitor SLA’s and KPI’s.
  • Maintain a strong security culture and implement practical security measures within areas of responsibility by carrying out security audits and risk assessments within the specified for each site.
  • Carry out investigations and document security incidents where designated.
  • Provide security advice to sites where required.
  • Identify and advise the sublot/project team when additional security measures arerequired in the auditing process.
  • Produce Security Management Plans
  • Monitor events taking place within their area of responsibility and arrange appropriate security measures to ensure risk reduction.
  • Assist with developing policies and procedures to enable BB Security Dept.
  • Develop a strong understanding of sites and construction plans to anticipate security requirements for the project.
  • Ensuring site set up is in line with the site security management plan and implement preventative measures against accidents, thefts and other risks.
  • Fulfil BB Security Team on-call duties when required.

THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES/EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:

  • Ability to work pro-actively alone or as part of a team.
  • Ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nightshifts, weekends & bank holidaysif required.
  • Experience working within the security industry.
  • Experience of contract administration and communicating changes and improvements
  • Experience of UK Security industry and criminal threats to the UK construction industry
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral format.
  • Excellent IT skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to the working environment and changing business priorities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
