Description:

Strathcona Resources Ltd. (“Strathcona”) is a Calgary, Alberta based oil and gas production and development company focused on maximizing oil and gas recovery from its low decline, high free cash flow oil and gas resource base. We are actively seeking a Security Analyst to join our team in Calgary. Reporting to the Team Lead, Infrastructure Services, this individual will focus on effectively supporting the development and maintenance of the organization’s security program.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Work with the IS Infrastructure team, and others, to develop and maintain security standards and security posture plan.
  • Interface with managed detection and response (MDR) provider with regards to systems monitoring, general reporting, log aggregation, threat hunting, etc.
  • Interface with other teams within Strathcona Resources Ltd. and vendors to help guide adherence to security controls.
  • Report on overall detection, events, responses to technical and business audiences.
  • Triage and respond to security alerts.
  • Help manage incident response within the organization.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to develop security models that support operational technology.
  • Document and plan remediation efforts for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Support development and delivery of Strathcona’s cyber awareness program.
  • Review system changes for potential security impacts and risks.

Qualifications Include:

  • Minimum of 3 years Information Technology experience in a large enterprise environment, oil and gas industry experience an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Security certifications such as the CISSP, SANS (GIAC) or equivalents.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing endpoint protection products.
  • Identity and access management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, VMware vSphere 6.x and above, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and computer users.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and is a collaborative team player.

Work Environment

  • Based at the Calgary Head Office (TD Canada Trust Tower) during business core hours.
  • Occasional travel to remote office, data center and field sites may be required.
