SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in security architecture and engineering leadership roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Industry certifications such as SABSA, CISSP or similar are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to assess complex security situations and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

WHY WE NEED THIS ROLE:

LI-MS1

As the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our enterprise-wide security strategy. Primary responsibility will be to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our security architecture and engineering practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Security Architecture Leadership - Develop and maintain the company’s security architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Engineering Oversight - Lead a team of skilled security engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across the organization.
  • Threat Intelligence – Review the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities, incorporating threat intelligence into security strategies.
  • Security Technology Roadmap – Establish and manage Security technology roadmap and drive the adoption of emerging security technologies and methodologies to support the organisation’s transformation agenda.
  • Collaboration and Communications - Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business to align security initiatives with the overall technology and business strategy.
  • Team Development and Management - Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing cybersecurity operations team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and collaboration within the team.
  • Budget Management - Manage the security budget, including resource allocation, cost control, and procurement.
  • Vendor Management - Oversee security-related vendor relationships and contracts.
