Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Engineer to join a growing software company with an office based in Cork. The Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security of applications by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Flexibility for this to be a remote role with requirements to be in the Cork office initially once per month and then once per quarter.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years in application security with a focus on security engineering.
  • Experience with Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Nessus, Kali Linux.
  • Familiar with DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and network security.
  • Proficient in programming languages (TypeScript, Python, NodeJS).
  • Understanding of web security standards.
  • Experience with secure coding, code review, and delivering training to teams on security.
  • Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and address application vulnerabilities to ensure security.
  • Implement InsureTech SaaS solutions for client projects.
  • Integrate security into the SDLC in collaboration with development teams.
  • Plan, track, and manage project resources effectively.
  • Perform security assessments, code reviews, penetration tests, and scans.
  • Establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and secure coding practices.
  • Monitor threats, respond to incidents, and deliver security training.
  • Maintain security documentation, metrics, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving security standards and third-party requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, threat modelling, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Support audits, compliance initiatives, and approve security-related changes.
