Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking for a Security Officer, this position will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests, employees, and property during evening and night hours. This role requires a proactive approach to security, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in security or law enforcement preferred.
- Previous security experience, particularly in a hotel or hospitality setting, is a plus.
- Must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. (shift will start at 7 or 8 pm)
- Personnel must have completed or be working towards Alberta Basic Security Training.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- W.H.M.I.S. certification is an asset.
- Legal ability to work in Canada. We are unable to offer LMIA.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the hotel premises, including guest floors, parking areas, entrances, lobby and parking areas, to ensure safety and security.
- Perform regular patrols of the property to deter and detect signs of intrusion or vandalism.
- Be proactive, enforce hotel policies and regulations while providing excellent customer service to all guests.
- Respond to security alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Assist guests with inquiries and provide directions or support as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities, including any pertinent information for management review.
- Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities and prepare reports as required.
- Manage access control to ensure only authorized individuals are permitted on the premises.
- Provide first aid and assist in emergency evacuations when necessary.
- Collaborate with hotel management and staff to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.
