Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Security Manager, this position will provide security support to High Park’s Security Department in London, ON. The Security Guard must be open to either a continental work schedule or flexible work time’s based on manager’s final approval on shift schedules, reliable and self-motivated who combines the ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances, while delivering high quality customer service. It is also important that the selected individual displays excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across the facility.
Availability for 247 coverage is a must.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Observing and reporting activities and incidents
- Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment
- Controlling access to property and facility through the admittance process
- Communicating in a manner that is open, honest and responsible in all situations
- Patrolling assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, safety violations and unauthorized persons
- Protecting evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies or security investigations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a provincial Security Guard and/or Private Investigator license in Ontario
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
- Minimum 1 year of security experience
- Possess an Ontario drivers license
- Be able and willing to work 12-hour shifts while on assignment
- Must be able to work day shift
- Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively
- Due to the nature of the business and working with controlled substances, all new employees will be required to complete a background check prior to starting work. This may include: verifying work references, validating all credentials and criminal record checks.
