Description:
Kentucky Country Day (KCD) is looking for a Security Officer to join our team in Louisville, KY. The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the people and property at Kentucky Country Day School. This could be a part-time or full-time position, including some weekend work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous law enforcement experience preferred.
- 2-3 years experience in the security field preferred.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently use computer technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment in a professional manner.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule (Nights, Days and Weekends).
- Ability to follow instructions and enforce policy in a professional manner.
- Commitment to continual development of one’s cultural competence.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to run in the event of an emergency.
- Ability to work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school.
- Ability to move around the campus quickly, as needed.
- Dependable team member with a positive mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor security cameras and access controls.
- Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies/ first responders in
- the event of an incident.
- Work directly with the Security Director to support various activities on
- campus such as parking plans, door access, carpool activity, and various
- other events to ensure the safety of the KCD Community.
- Patrol campus, parking lots, playgrounds, sports fields, and interior spaces
- to monitor doors, demonstrate a presence and respond to any identified
- needs.
- Serve as a role model for students in behavior and professional appearance.
- Attend all necessary training and meetings.
