About the role
Redcliffe Hospital is looking for a Casual Security Officer to join its team. Redcliffe Hospital Security Services functions in a dynamic, fast paced environment where no two shifts are the same and you are valued as an important member of the multidisciplinary team.Are you worried you don’t have any security experience? About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

  • Provide comprehensive security service delivery to Redcliffe Hospital staff, patients, visitors and its associated land and assets.
  • Provide a first response security presence to emergency situations.
  • Actively contribute to the de-escalation of aggressive behaviours and incidents, utilising endorsed evidence based contemporary practices.
  • Carry out physical interventions and clinical restraints as required.
  • Provide traffic, smoking and other controls as outlined in the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 and the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998, including directing disorderly persons off Health Service land.
  • Record all shift activities, incidents, breaches, observations, comments and supporting digital media in the security reporting system.
  • Monitor and operate tele-communication, radio, CCTV and body worn camera (BWC) equipment in a proper and ethical manner.
  • Maintain currency in respect of all mandatory and requisite training requirements and certifications.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health, safety and wellbeing and take reasonable care to ensure that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health, safety and wellbeing of others.
  • Be accountable for the security, confidentiality and use of information, in accordance with legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as directed by the Redcliffe Hospital Leadership Team, Security Coordinator, Senior Security Officers and in the event QPS or QFD become the lead agency, directions from those entities.
