Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

General Description of Duties
Patrols, monitors and inspects in and around buildings to prevent and detect fire, theft, illegal entry, escape, and property damage; examines doors and windows to ensure proper security; turns off unnecessary lights and other operating equipment for safety and proper operation;
Patrols buildings by foot; inspects for fire and safety hazards; makes corrections where possible and reports needed action;
Enforces rules of behavior and entry on grounds and in buildings; reports disturbances or suspicious circumstances; enforces traffic regulations on grounds and reports violators;
Enforces rules based on agency policy as per Physical Security Manager
Directs visitors, vendors and employees to parking areas and offices.
Escorts CTS’ customers, tenants, visitors, employees, and Vendors to and from buildings.
Perform other Services as required.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of, and ability to comply with: CTS policies, procedures, rules and practices governing access to and departure from buildings and grounds; general safety precautions and fire hazards at buildings; methods and procedures in dealing with intruders and violators; scheduling workers; report
preparation. Ability to learn and enforce rules; respond to and provide assistance in security and/or safety related situations, follow written and oral instructions; demonstrate common sense and good judgment, meet emergencies and employ effective courses of action.
Service Level Requirements
Currently licensed as a Security Guard by the Washington State Department of Licensing, under the
requirements of chapter 18.170 RCW.
Be age 19 or over.
Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent training or job experience.
Read and write in English equivalent to a high school graduate. Verbally communicate in English with clear and definitive articulation to assure confidence, control, and safety of individuals in and around CTS’ data center and remote sites, particularly in emergency situations.
Be physically fit as evidenced by a medical examination conducted within thirty (30) days prior to entry on duty. An annual medical examination must be conducted for all Vendor Staff within thirty (30) days of the anniversary date of their previous examination.
Meet other medically related requirements specified in contract.
Possess binocular vision, correctable to 20/30 (Snellen).
Be able to discriminate among standard colors.
Be capable of hearing ordinary conversation at twenty (20) feet and whispered conversation at ten (10) feet with each ear without benefit of a hearing aid.
Be able to perform normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion
including, but not limited to:
- Standing or walking for an entire shift.
- Climbing stairs and ladders.
- Lifting or carrying objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Running for short distances, and
- Self-defense.
Possess and maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification as set forth by the American Red Cross or equivalent association.
Receive formal training in personal safety and restraint prior to assignment at CTS.
Possess knowledge of fire prevention and suppression methods and equipment.
Possess the ability to take charge of situations, communicate to employees and customers, and resolve complaints or problems using tact, diplomacy and mature judgment.
At least one (1) year of prior satisfactory experience in a similar capacity (security related employment).
Pass comprehensive background checks, including a Vendor pre-employment background/reference check and a CTS background check (which will include a Washington State Patrol background check and
fingerprinting).
As a Security Operations Center Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Monitor closed circuit television systems and alarms.
- Monitor and operate facility computers systems regularly, as assigned.
- Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately. Contact Emergency Services, such as EMT, Fire Dept., etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
