As CMC’s Security Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security and integrity of our CMC information assets. You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents. Your role is vital in protecting CMC from threats and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations.
You will be proactive in ensuring the operational readiness of CMC’s security infrastructure and its effectiveness in protecting corporate and customer intellectual property. Reporting to the Chief Security Officer (CSO) the range for this position is $90K to $110K.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001/27002, and others relevant to the CMC’s sector.
  • Basic project management skills can be helpful, especially in coordinating response efforts and security projects.
  • Relevant certifications:
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • AWS Certified Security

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a security operations center or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, especially those related to security and experience in securing AWS workloads.
  • Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security, and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and Analysis:
  • Continuously monitor security systems for anomalies and suspicious activities.
  • Analyze security alerts and provide incident response.
  • Investigate potential security breaches and coordinate response activities.
  1. Incident Response:
  • Respond to cybersecurity incidents and assist with initial incident response.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams for incident investigation and remediation.
  • Document and report incidents, including cause, impact, and remedial actions.
  1. Threat Intelligence:
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats and trends.
  • Analyze threat intelligence feeds and adapt security measures accordingly.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the CISO and relevant stakeholders.
  1. Security Operations and Maintenance:
  • Review firewall settings and policies for compliance with CMC’ security program
  • Perform regular checks and maintenance of security tools and systems.
  • Configure and fine-tune security solutions to enhance protection.
  • Assist in the development and updating of security policies and procedures.
  1. Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present security reports to management.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to implement security best practices.
  • Provide training and security awareness sessions on security for staff.
  • Participate in security projects and initiatives.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously seek ways to improve security processes and measures.
  • Stay abreast of new security technologies and practices.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
