Security Protection Officers play a key part in our success, taking pride in providing exceptional service to all passengers and other airport users whilst working safely and efficiently to provide reassurance, deterrence, detection, and response. This role will be a vital part of the delivery of operating excellence, whilst maintaining a high standard of security and protection.
As a Security Protection Officer - Team Leader , you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the team’s efforts in ensuring the safety and security of all passengers and staff within the airport.
We have opportunities for both Permanent and Job Share.
These role are shift-based, the roster is currently 2 lates 6 off for the permanent shift based role. For the job share 20 hours a week, the rota would be 2 earlies and 2 off.

  • Providing meaningful on-shift leadership and support to our duty teams whilst delivering against Heathrow’s values
  • Ensuring that all colleagues have the correct PPE to safely undertake their duties
  • Providing a shift briefing to our duty teams and delivery of the on-shift operating plan, whilst proactively reacting to operating plan variances through dynamically deploying resources
  • End of Shift Report that documents shift performance as well as highlighting improvement opportunities and acknowledges and identifies excellent performance
  • Creating an effective shift handover between shifts which will allow the next duty team to effectively deploy our duty teams as per the operational and customer requirement
  • Dynamic decision-making, prioritisation of workload and flexibility
  • A passion for building great relationships with team members and ensuring that Heathrow’s behaviours and values are met
  • Evidence of initiating and delivering continuous improvement
  • Demonstrable capability, confidence, and resilience in responding to operational demands
  • Demonstrable capability in effectively managing your time to balance the conflicting demands of a customer service-orientated operational environment
