REQUIREMENTS:

Visit and supervise at all University buildings and property, including the initial management of front-line third party security partner staff.
Have experience of working in a role or environment with transferable skills, or previous security roles.
Be educated to GCSE Level ‘C’ or equivalent, particularly in English Language.
Hold a Security Industry (SIA) ‘Security Guarding’ and/or ‘Door Supervision’ licence or will be competent enough to be able to do so within three months of commencing the role, in line with the probationary requirements (Any renewal and training will be paid by the University after probationary period completion). Failure to achieve this may lead to employment termination.
Be able to demonstrate skills outlined within the ‘Person Specification’ section of the aligned Job Description.
Be able to comply with the requirements outlined within the ‘Special Requirements’ and ‘Expectations of all Staff’ sections of the aligned Job Description.

Responsibilities:

Strive to ensure the safety and security of all University users and protecting it’s assets and interests at all times.
Provide friendly, efficient, and effective front-line assistance to students, staff, and visitors, upholding high standards of customer service and being an ambassador for the University.
Undertake various security supervisory duties as directed, including internal and external duties including acting within pressurised emergency situations, and undertaking roles associated with those of a ‘First Responder’ on occasions.
Provide a constant, visible and effective focal point for the operational security and reception teams on a day to day basis.
Operate and monitor CCTV and other security-related systems including alarm systems from our ‘state of the art’ control rooms.
Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained with the course of your duty in line with the Data Protection Act/GDPR, a person’s right to privacy, and the Human Rights Act.
Proactively deal with and report, any issues of concern which may be Health and Safety related.
Maintain high level of competency and legislative compliance via regular and ongoing mandatory training.
