POSITION: Security Supervisor
Job description:
As a SIRA Certified Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the security operations of the [facility/organization], ensuring the safety and security of the premises, employees, and visitors. Your role includes supervising security personnel, implementing security policies, and responding to incidents and emergencies. You will work closely with management to maintain a secure environment and address any security-related issues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and schedule security personnel, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Conduct regular briefings and debriefings with the security team to communicate important information and updates.
- Monitor the performance of security staff, providing feedback and coaching to ensure high standards of service.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions or commendations as necessary.
- Oversee regular patrols and inspections of the premises to ensure security measures are in place and functioning correctly.
- Identify and address any vulnerabilities or security breaches.
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms promptly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and other relevant authorities when necessary.
- Manage access control systems, ensuring that only authorized personnel and visitors are allowed entry.
- Issue and monitor the use of access cards, keys, and identification badges.
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure all security personnel are trained and knowledgeable about security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards related to security and safety.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to security policies.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and communication protocols.
- Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure readiness for emergencies.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
- Maintain accurate records of security activities, personnel schedules, and access logs.
- Analyze security data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on security operations and incidents.
- Work closely with other departments to address security concerns and support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Must have SIRA License or Certificate as Security Supervisor
- Proven experience in a security role, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Experience in a specific industry, e.g., corporate, retail, healthcare, etc. setting is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in security systems, surveillance equipment, and access control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of legal regulations and industry standards related to security.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and a high level of vigilance.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
