WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Toyota’s Plastics Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Seibi Technician with experience in plastics injection molding.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support Plastics PE Analysts in development and confirmation of new model plastic shop molds and equipment processes to ensure Key Process Indicators (KPIs) are achieved prior to the North American Manufacturing Centers hand-over milestone.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Plastics Production Engineering Department’s objective to launch high quality new model plastic components to the North American Manufacturing Centers.
Responsibilities:
- Providing hands-on support of major and minor model molds and equipment preparation+trials at Woodstock and Cambridge plants
- Identifying part, mold and equipment problems and implementing countermeasures
- Leading installation activities related to interior/exterior plastics equipment/processes, robot teaching, trial support, coordinating trial activities, and assisting NAMC’s (North American Manufacturing Centers) as needed
- Assisting in specification reviews/vendor trials for new process equipment
- Support Engineering Analyst in mold level-up plan for part quality improvements.
- Support engineering, manufacturing activities, and reporting
- Support part accuracy confirmation by Faro scanning on check fixture
- Data collection on check sheets and analysis
- Perform “hands-on” Seibi tasks as needed to complete work objectives
- Travel to mold vendors to confirm mold level ups and Engineering Changes (ECIs) before mold ship back to TMMC (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada)
- Depending on project needs, travel is required for this role at other sites in USA, Canada and Mexico – 50%
