The SAD will start to become more heavily involved in medium and long-term resource planning across the HSO team, as well as become more responsible for individual HSO team member development.
The SAD will also play a key role in driving the business forward through the identification and of new business opportunities and proposal/pitch documentation.”

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Senior Account Director, Luxury to join our team and help build our growing luxury practice, including some of Australia’s most established luxury brands.
From automotive, travel and alcohol brands, you’ll be the client lead for the luxury portfolio, and be responsible for establishing and growing our clients’ brands in their respective fields. Leading some of Australia’s biggest sponsorships, talent partnerships and media relations programmes, you’ll be a self-starter who loves being out and about and connecting your clients with incredible opportunities.
You’ll have a passion for the latest luxury trends, know the luxury landscape inside out, and be a close advisor to our clients on how to build their brands. In addition, you’ll have strong and established senior media contacts and luxury network.
For this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have your finger on the pulse and are up to date on all the latest trends in culture, travel and luxury. You will understand what makes a story great and have amazing media contacts, proven through your experience working within an agency context, or in an in-house role with a significant focus on media relations.
In addition, you will have the skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement, adaptability and responsibility to manage client activities and junior members of the team who help implement them.
This position reports to a Client Services Director / Managing Partner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the wow factor for clients, Be a proactive and supportive client partner!

  • Plan, write and present highly complex materials, presentations and communications plans
  • Own logical and creative strategies, client programs, projects and/or events and ensure the quality of work meets clients’ objectives in the most effective manner
  • Manage highly complex client engagement, know each clients’ objectives, perspectives, issues and requirements
  • Develop sound communications and media relations strategies, creative executions, accurate budgets and timelines with input from the team, reviewing their contributions and coaching them to develop their skills
  • Develop project/program KPIs in conjunction with the team, ensure these are being met and manage client expectations
  • Demonstrate highly complex creativity
  • Form and direct strategy in an issues and crisis situation
  • Manage workflow by delegating and monitoring works, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving problems and implementing new procedures as required
  • Own client programs, projects and/or events and ensure the quality of work meets clients’ objectives in the most effective manner
  • Own and drive strong relationships across multiple levels within the client base, ensuring regular visibility with key contacts
  • Oversee the process of client briefs, including broader HAVAS Village briefs, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of each brief
  • Lead and participate in brainstorms
  • Achieve high levels of client satisfaction, driving and motivating team members to provide superior service whilst maintaining agency profitability
  • Develop and grow each client account financially both within the current program and beyond

Bring your Black Book of media and influencer contacts

  • Build HAVAS Red’s relationships with senior media and influential contacts in all relevant fields particularly luxury and travel
  • Have a deep knowledge of Australian lifestyle, celebrity, luxury, news media and social influencers
  • Monitor media for potential client relevant issues and provide analysis and counsel to clients
  • Ensure team members are communicating and interacting with media contacts on a regular basis
  • Take responsibility for high standard of writing, spelling and grammar in all copywriting
  • Write highly complex communication materials
  • Pitch to senior media as required

Be socially savvy

  • Have a sound understanding of current digital channels and social media as marketing tools
  • Proactively sell in #RedSocial to clients and prospects
  • Work with #RedSocial to ensure all client social and digital strategies are best-in-class, integrated and aligned
  • Ensure social and digital programs are expertly implemented and deliver against agreed KPIs

Facilitate extraordinary events

  • Counsel team members to determine if an event is the best strategic option for the client and help manage client expectations
  • Ensure team members run events for clients to high standards, meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Oversee timely presentation of post event reports and content such as photography and videos

Manage challenges with our crisis team

  • Anticipate potential issues which may affect clients’
  • Develop client issues and crisis management plans as required
  • In conjunction with the senior lead, develop strategies to handle complex client issues and crises, coaching team members as required

Own and manage the numbers

  • Develop accurate client budgets for sign off by the senior lead
  • In conjunction with the Finance Director/CFO, review and understand client contract restraints and monetary obligations and limits
  • Oversee the deployment of resources to deliver programs and projects in an effective and profitable manner
  • Oversee account teams’ time to ensure it is appropriate and in line with capacity estimates
  • Oversee teams’ workloads and communicate any issues to the senior management team
  • Maintain accurate and up to date forecasts in the revenue tracker
  • Prepare and participate in senior management meetings

Be a leader of people with

  • Set and monitor the achievement of high-performance benchmarks and a positive and proactive attitude. Ensure team members understand their role and responsibilities in delivering programs and projects
  • Present strong leadership qualities to all staff, moving towards the achievement of HAVAS Red philosophy, mission, strategy and performance against benchmarks and objectives
  • Develop direct reports through on-the-job mentoring, regular meetings, internal and external training opportunities and effective implementation of HAVAS Red performance review program, and ensure they meet their KPIs
  • Develop mentees through coaching and advice helping them reach their KPIs and career goals
  • Assist in sourcing and recruiting new staff members as required

Drive New Business

  • Own a section of generating, developing and securing new business for the agency including identifying targets, setting up credentials’ meetings, attending briefing meetings, translating the brief internally, leading brainstorming sessions, developing and pitching strategic and creative communications programs and ultimately winning new business
  • Confidently present at pitch meetings and tissue sessions as required
  • Proactively recommend additional projects to existing clients
  • Maintain and grow an extensive network on LinkedIn and post regularly to increase profile
  • Assist in the promotion of the business via media relations (including placing by-lined articles and comments on news of the day) and effective attendance at networking, industry association and awards events
