Description:

Upvest, founded in 2017, enables any financial institution to offer great investment experiences to its customers. Upvest is an investment firm regulated by the German supervision authority (BaFin). The company currently employs 160+ people across Europe with its headquarters based in Berlin, Germany.
The company is backed by the world’s largest venture capital funds and investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital, Notion Capital, and ABN Amro Ventures, as well as by renowned fintech entrepreneurs (including Maximilian Tayenthal, founder of N26, and Felix Haas, founder of IDnow).
We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. Our mission and vision is to make investing as easy as spending money.
We’re based in Berlin but would consider hiring remotely in Germany for this role. If you do want to move to Berlin though, we’re happy to support your relocation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: You have 6+ years of experience in sales-related roles (ideally within investments, banking or wealth), ideally within a B2B set up and with API-based products.
  • Industry Exposure: You have previous experience within and strong interest into investments, securities trading and software-/infrastructure-as-a-service products (e.g., BaaS).
  • Leadership Skills: You have demonstrated people leadership skills, are able to communicate well with different stakeholder groups, and are not afraid to challenge assumptions internally or externally.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to create trust, effectively handle objections and present compelling pitches.
  • Sales Methodologies: Demonstrated expertise with B2B sales methodologies, such as solution/consultative selling as well as practical application of industry best practices (e.g. MEDDPICC framework).
  • Project Management: Hands-on, proactive ownership of complex projects, including reliable client communication and diligent internal documentation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the investment industry, its current trends and competitive landscape.
  • Professional Network: Strong professional network in the investment industry.
  • Location Preference: Preference for candidates located in Berlin and fluent in English and German (written and verbal).

Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise GTM Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market/sales strategy that enables Upvest to expand its foothold with digital financial players
  • Ownership Enterprise Funnel: Own the cross-functional sales cycle until contract closing to meet or exceed your own and your team’s sales targets.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a team of Account Executives, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure an excellent sales process for our clients.
  • Process Improvement and Material Development: Develop compelling sales materials and pitches that communicate the Upvest value proposition effectively.
  • Sales Targets and Performance Tracking: Set sales team targets for the Enterprise team and develop reliable weekly, monthly, and annual sales performance and pipeline reports.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to our sales enablement efforts and process improvement by sharing client insights constantly.
