Description:

Mikisew Group LP is looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Enoch, AB. In this role, you will ensure that all financial information is accurate, timely, and aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, financial performance, and internal controls, while supporting the overall strategic direction of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with focus on Excel and Word programming

Experience:

  • Expertise in building financial models and analyzing financial data.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE accounting standards.
  • Proven analytical, reconciliation, and inter-company account management skills.
  • Experience with internal control implementation and compliance.
  • Proficient in SAP B1 and report building in Solver or similar tools.
  • Energetic, results-driven self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player with high integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective communicator with all levels of staff, including executives.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled in managing and analyzing large volumes of data.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable team, assist with monthly remittance reconciliations and invoicing, and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and automate the consolidated annual budget and financial forecasts for 10+ companies.
  • Assist in implementing the Budgeting and Forecasting tool within SAP B1/Solver, ensuring alignment with project teams.
  • Establish processes for obtaining monthly updates from project teams and ensure accountability for budget/forecast variations.
  • Lead the Compliance Reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely calculations.
  • Assist in creating and documenting internal controls.
  • Prepare and review month-end working papers for Board and management meetings.
  • Support special projects and ad-hoc tasks as needed.
  • Train and support the development of junior accounting staff.
  • Drive process efficiencies in the Budgeting and Forecasting areas.
  • Assist in reviewing investment opportunities and analyzing related benefits.
  • Support efforts to maximize profitability within existing contracts.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for financial statement and vendor audits.
