Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledger for multiple entities by inputting daily financial transactions.
  • Responsibility for full cycle accounting including month end close procedures.
  • Responsible to post daily deposits and reconciliation to sales closings.
  • Resolving financial problems, investigate issues and resolve accounting transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Variance analysis of financial results against budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings including GST, PST
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet account reconciliations, including but not limited to bank reconciliations and intercompany.
  • Preparation of month end financial package with supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly financial information including consolidations.
  • Produce year end working paper files and assist with preparation for independent accountant review.
  • Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for accounting transactions.
  • Develop and maintain project specific reporting and analysis for internal clients.
  • Maintain an accurate trail and support for all financial and accounting transactions.
  • Understand and maintain adequate and effective internal controls under the direction of the controller.
  • Examine, reconcile and adjust job costing to ensure accurate job costs.
  • Other duties within the finance department as assigned
