Job Description

DESCRIPTION

At CoStar Group, our finance group centralises transaction processes, providing accurate reporting, financial resolutions, and proper forecasting analysis. Joining the team offers access to financial specialisations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and asset management, client contracts and billing, and revenue recognition.
The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for assisting in the monthly close process, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses related to the monthly results. Other responsibilities for this position include assisting in implementation of changes and enhancements to the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system. This position will also work with the Financial Planning and Analysis team and meet with various other departments to understand fluctuations from budget and forecast and to help enhance our month-end close processes. This position may also get exposure to technical accounting issues, including business combinations and integrations, and have interactions with our external auditors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered Accountancy qualification
  • Strong accounting experience gained working in a large international public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Understanding of SOX controls environment desirable
  • Experience of working to a monthly close cadence
  • Strong project management, time management and communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and analyze data effectively
  • Ideally proficient in one or more European languages, specifically Spanish, German or French

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and review of monthly financial results
  • Assistance with special projects within department or as part of cross-functional teams
  • Work with external auditors and facilitate review of the close process, account reconciliations and variance analyses
  • Ensure timely monthly close and accurate monthly results
