Description:

Sue Sumrell is recruiting for a dynamic and motivated Senior Accountant for a sustainable company on the East Side of the Portland metro area! The successful candidate will be responsible for month-end and year-end closing process, account reconciliation, and correcting journal entries.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 4-5 years of accountancy experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
Proficient in managing general ledger, month and year-end close.
Extensive use of accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with the ability to interact effectively with all levels within the company.
Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially during peak periods.

Responsibilities:

Analyzing manufacturing operations, as well as production costs and making recommendations as needed.
Maintaining costing standards for manufacturing costs and labor.
Maintaining the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules.
Preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.
Performing ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
