SENIOR ACCOUNTANT REQUIRED IN BRACKENFELL, CAPE TOWN.

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analysing financial data, and providing support to the finance department to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Registered as a SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA) or Associate General Accountant AGA (SA).
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of practical work experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and taxation laws.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and engineering.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality in financial matters.

Responsibilities:

General area of responsibilities:

  • Financial Recordkeeping
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable

Specific daily responsibilities:

  • Daily accounting transactions (e.g. debtor and supplier invoice processing, cash book processing and reconciliation, load and authorisation of payments, etc.).
  • Review cash flow forecast on a frequent basis.
  • Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Monthly debtor statements processing and follow up on long overdue debtors.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation.
  • Ensure all tax returns are submitted and paid on time and communicate with SARS regarding queries.
  • Review the Payroll administrator’s work and ensure the Payroll is accurate, up to date and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, such as the Employment Equity Act, Labour Relations Act IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act, Income Tax Act etc.
  • Attend to all secretarial work and ensure submissions are made on time and all relevant resolutions and minutes are prepared and up to date.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Maintain the insurance policy.
  • Manage the exports of the company which will include:
  • Preparation of commercial and any other relevant documents, including custom documents.
  • Arrangement of shipping containers.
  • Office management duties.
