Fluor Engineering NV, located in Antwerp, is focused on developing long-term relationships with customers in revamping, debottlenecking and expanding the production capacity of their existing facilities in all sectors of the Process Industry in Belgium: Chemical, Petrochemical, Power, Life Sciences, Food, Pharmaceutical, Recycling,.. The Antwerp office provide the full project execution services: from conceptual engineering, basic engineering, and detailed engineering through commissioning and construction support.
For our team in Antwerp we are looking for a Senior Accountant.
As a Senior Accountant you will provide direction, training, and evaluation to a staff of accountants and technicians.
You will be responsible for the review and analysis of group’s performance from an efficiency and productivity standpoint with a detailed knowledge of work processes and internal controls.
This role assists management in understanding and communicating accounting issues and challenges/changes to the group.
Key responsibilities:
- Interface with other groups inside and outside the organization, including internal and external auditors
- Manage projects as requested by senior management to define, organize, create an organized plan as well as track, manage, and communicate status
- Review and analyze financial performance of the assigned organization and assist management in understanding and communicating financial issues
- Supervise the financial statement closing process on a monthly and quarterly basis for the assigned organization
- Approve journal entries and other manual adjustments that impact the financial statements
- Prepare/review/approve account reconciliations and prepare variance explanations
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6-8 years proven work experience in a financial position preferably in the similar industry.
- Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices
- Candidates need to be fluent in both Dutch and English;
Written and verbal communication with our Clients is both in Dutch as in English
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of global enterprise resource planning (ERP) accounting applications such as SAP
- Able to operate to strict deadlines
