Job Description
Deliver accurate and timely financial information from the point of transaction through to financial close and periodic external reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
This position offers a mininumn base salary of $74,700.00 up to $99,600.00 . Final salary is determined by required qualifications, experience, and education for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of general accounting experience
  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand accounting outcomes and explain accounting treatment
  • ERP systems experience
  • Process excellence experience
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP
  • Excellent understanding of internal controls and compliance
  • Highly organized
  • Commitment to the YMCA character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility is required

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the day-to-day accounting lead for assigned YMCA clients
  • Serve as the YESS Finance liaison to client YMCAs operating teams
  • Deliver accurate and timely GAAP financial statements to client YMCAs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as required
  • Lead the audit process including the gathering of supporting documents, development of schedules, and the completion of the final audit report(s)
  • Complete and deliver internal and external financial reports as required
  • Process journal entries (create, validate)
  • Set up recurring, accrual and reversing journal entries
  • Facilitate and perform period close activities
  • Develop and maintain balancing and control standards
  • Perform variance analyses and reconciliations
  • Monitor and correct complex data and information errors, and identify and resolve exceptions
  • Coach/ support fellow team members to handle complex issues/exceptions
  • Support development of clearly defined, achievable team and individual goals.
  • Evaluate exceptions to process, quality, and service delivery commitments by category
  • Participate in the prioritization of targeted exceptions
  • Perform root cause analysis for more complex exceptions
  • Identify risks or opportunities to revenues, cost, and profitability and propose appropriate actions
  • Investigate outstanding reconciliations and associated variances
  • Perform other duties as assigned
