Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5pm
Wage- $80,000 - $90,000 Salary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant will perform complex accounting functions including but not limited to, oversight of grants and contracts financial reporting, budgeting and billing for assigned grants & contracts. The Senior Accountant must have the ability to research, understand, and apply State and Federal laws, agencies’ requirements, rules and regulations. The Senior Accountant must have strong accounting and analytical skills.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a nonprofit services environment and working with federal contracts is preferred
  • Experience in contract billing and preparation of budgets is desirable

SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledge and experience with computerized general ledger systems, spreadsheet design, database management and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel formulas
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated, adaptable to change, and detail- oriented
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities
  • Ability to be self-directed and represent the agency in a professional manner

Responsibilities:

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the Grants & Contracts Controller and in coordination with program operation managers and the finance team prepare the annual budgets for assigned programs.
  • Prepare interim funding budget proposals for assigned programs.
  • Train budget managers on the use of the Sage Intacct Dashboard.
  • Meet with budget managers to review actual expenditures versus budget and perform variance analysis on a quarterly basis and as requested.
  • May travel occasionally to gather information and provide support to program staff.
