Description:

THE MISSION

At OroraTech, we are on a mission to revolutionize how businesses and governments utilize space-based thermal data. We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. Your first task will be to take on the full range of accounting tasks from daily bookkeeping in DATEV, payment processing and reporting up to the preparation of the annual statement. You will also drive the consolidation of our international subsidiaries. This role involves close collaboration with our tax advisers and auditors as well as with the finance & controlling team.

RELEVANT SKILLS

  • Several years of professional experience in the field of financial accounting
  • Certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK) is an advantage
  • Advanced experience in using tools such as DATEV and spreadsheets
  • Experience in preparation of the annual statement
  • Detail oriented
  • A proactive attitude, always looking for ways to improve and make an impact
  • A team-oriented approach, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience with Quickbooks is an advantage
  • Experience with consolidation is an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for managing financial accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and asset accounting), bank account reconciliation, posting of accruals and provisions, as well as monthly intercompany reconciliation
  • Prepare and execute payment runs and monitor incoming payments and handling the dunning process
  • Handle the monthly financial closing process of the holding company, ensuring delivery of accurate financial reports that comply with German GAAP (HGB) regulations
  • Cooperate with local accountants of our international subsidiaries (Canada, USA and Greece) to prepare consolidated financial statements
  • Support in the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with auditors
  • Manage the cashflow, including forecasting and monitoring to assure we always have enough liquidity to meet our obligations
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Work on new accounting projects and implement new tools that help advance the continuous improvement of the financial processes
