Nym is now looking for an additional senior accountant to join our all star finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations, enhancing strategic financial initiatives, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards in the cryptocurrency space. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and a commitment to precision and efficiency - no prior crypto experience needed.

KEY EXPERIENCE

• Five or more years of experience in accounting, preferably in a consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
• Experience in preparing financial statements, audits, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
• Versatile abilities with a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency accounting is a bonus.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience in data analysis and financial modelling.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Support and collaborate with the finance team on decision-making, financial reporting, and implementation of key financial strategies.
• Evaluate, design, and implement improvements to financial systems and processes; identify knowledge and skills gaps and develop strategies to address them.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, and optimise financial procedures for efficiency and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, particularly for cryptocurrency transactions and holdings.
• Collaborate with the finance team and 3rd parties on Nym’s annual audits.
• Provide financial analysis and support for special projects and initiatives, working with the CEO and other executives.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), cryptocurrency regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
