The Senior Accountant manages key financial processes, including AR/AP, month-end closure, reconciliations, and payroll support. Acting as a 2IC to CFO, they prepare financial reports, analyse variances, ensure compliance, and maintain a strong Balance Sheet. This role drives efficiency, handles commission payments, and supports strategic decision-making through insightful analysis and collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years accounting experience, and 2-3 in a similar position (essential)
- Degree in Accounting (essential)
- Experience working with Xero (essential)
- Excellent communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Great attention to detail
- Experience in the digital marketing industry (desirable)
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD INCLUDE:
- Ensure seamless handling of payments, invoicing, and collections while maintaining accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Take ownership of monthly financial close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets, identify variances, and offer actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Support timely and error-free payroll processing.
- Oversee the calculation, verification, and disbursement of commission and referral payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide strong support and step in as needed to handle key financial responsibilities and drive strategic initiatives.
- Develop custom reports and perform in-depth financial analyses to address specific business needs and inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date, supporting the organization’s financial health and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to financial plans, identify areas of improvement, and contribute to ongoing budget management processes.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to streamline processes, address queries, and ensure an efficient and smooth payroll operation.
