  • CA/CPA qualification.
  • Tertiary education in accounting or commerce.
  • Experience in a similar or related role in a medium to large organisation

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our dynamic team in the homecare sector and contribute to delivering exceptional care to our clients by ensuring financial excellence.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in analysing financial information, preparing timely and accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting controls and regulatory requirements. Your efforts will directly support strategic decision-making across the business. This is a full time position, however we are also open to candidates looking for 4 days per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare consolidated financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and management reports with insightful commentaries.
  • Manage tax and compliance obligations, including income tax, FBT, and sector-related financial reporting.
  • Oversee payroll-related accruals, provisions, and the review of payroll journals.
  • Maintain AASB 16 leasing schedules and ensure compliance with leasing standards.
  • Review and process month-end journals for prepayments, accruals, and provisions.
  • Prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors for smooth audit completion.
  • Mentor and oversee the tasks of the Assistant Accountant and Accounts Payable roles.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
  • Manage ad hoc tasks as required by the CFO or Financial Controller.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE

  • Delivering accurate financial and management reports by established deadlines.
  • Ensuring all compliance reports and tax lodgements meet statutory deadlines.
  • Maintaining up-to-date financial policies and procedures.
