Description:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution required
  • Five to seven years of experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of financial accounting systems and other technical accounting skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare and record extensive volume of account journal entries. Research, respond to, and resolve general ledger account inquiries from management, auditors, and other departments. (20%)
  • Reconcile and balance general ledger and subsidiary accounts. Perform monthly analysis of various general ledger accounts to ensure that account balances are recorded properly, making corrections on a timely basis. (20%)
  • Perform computer control procedures to verify accuracy of departmental feeds into the general ledger. Identify discrepancies and troubleshoot to resolve problems. Maintain spreadsheets associated with departmental feeds. (20%)
  • Compile information and prepare schedules for the year-end audits. Assist with the preparation of year-end workpapers, financial statements, and footnotes. (10%)
  • Compile information and assist in the preparation of the tax return workpapers. (10%)

MARGINAL DUTIES:

  • Assist with the preparation of external regulatory reporting requirements, including 1099’s, 1099K’s, and 1042’s. (5%)
  • Participate in testing system upgrades. (5%)
  • Crosstrain and provide backup support for other members of the accounting team. (5%)
  • Participate in special projects. (5%)
  • Perform all other duties as may be required.
