Description:
John Asdell with Robert Half is partnered with a national manufacturing company based in San Diego County that is seeking a Senior Accountant. This person will have the opportunity to be promoted to Accounting Manager within the first year. Furthermore, the role is currently completely remote , but only available to candidates living in San Diego County.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of accounting tasks such as financial analysis, reconciliations, and assistance with audits.
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against these plans.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Process and record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures.
- Monitor and manage expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- Experience with small to midsize companies ($100M+)
- Must have previous experience with complex reconciliations and large data sets
- Adept in maintaining and managing General Ledger
- Experience with Month End Close procedures is a must
- Proficient in using NetSuite, MS Dynamics, SAGE Intacct, or other midsized accounting packages highly preferred
