Senior Accountant

Our client who offers strong hybrid/remote work is in need of a Senior Accountant to join our team in the Telecom Services industry, based in Covington, Louisiana. The role involves processing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining and reviewing general ledger accounts, and conducting financial analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements. This is a permanent role, where the successful candidate will also carry out special projects as required and assist in the preparation of financial statement disclosures.

• Accurately process and review customer credit applications
• Ensure the maintenance and review of general ledger accounts for accuracy
• Conduct financial analysis to validate the completeness and accuracy of financial statements
• Carry out special projects as needed, including various ad hoc analyses on revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable and allowances for doubtful accounts
• Assist in the preparation of financial statement and footnote schedules and disclosures for periodic reports
• Monitor customer accounts and undertake appropriate action as required
• Utilize skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Oracle, and SAP to perform duties effectively
• Apply public accounting experience to enhance the efficiency of accounting processes.

While the role has the option to mostly work from home, our client does want a candidate in the Greater New Orleans area for times when special projects, corporate meetings and other needs require joining the team in the office. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in corporate accounting or public accounting
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, General Ledger, and Journal Entries
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Month End Close processes
• Knowledge and usage experience with Oracle and SAP systems
• Prior experience in Public Accounting is essential
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
