Description:
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves managing daily accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and delivering financial analysis and advice on procurement and investment. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for streamlining accounting functions and operations, creating periodic reports, and collaborating with management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting activities including accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and treasury operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with state revenue service, federal and state laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
- Conduct periodic audits, forecasting, and manage budget processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting strategies and systems.
- Collaborate closely with the management team to formulate business strategies based on financial research.
- Guide junior accountants and accounting clerks.
- Use accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP proficiently.
- Perform account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and perform month end close.
- Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to manage General Ledger and Journal Entries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good-record-keeping
